Ramblings of a Children's Librarian

 We had a program.  When it was over I walked up to a little girl and asked her if she had fun

Almost 3 year old:  No I didn't.

I laughed so hard....because I knew she really had fun, and saw what all she had done, and it was so very funny.

 Called my boss.  Told her we didn't have 3 books off the Bluebonnet list.  And I wanted to make sure they got ordered.

Missing: 1, Don Quixote, Haiku Ew! and Pedro's YoYo,  I said now there's more to it, meaning the title, each title had MORE to the title than what I listed off to her.

She calls back in 10 minutes, stated she had found 2 were on backorder and 1 she was unsure if she had ordered.  Now on this one called More to it, who was the author?  I said WHAT?  She said I am looking for the book More to it....I said no...it's not a book, I meant there was MORE TO THE TITLE than what I said over the phone.

 Today went walking (because I don't have a car) to First Baptist to walk at least 34 times around the gym.  (Almost 2 miles) I leave and am walking back towards the Library and I have ONE traffic light I reach each time going/coming to walk during lunch to and from First Baptist Church. I get to the light, hit it to let me know when it is SAFE to cross the street.

I hear the noise alerting me to cross the street, and about that SAME TIME, I hear a gruff voice screaming at me WHILE HE IS JAY WALKING HIS BICYCLE across the street, and He says, Get out of the d*** highway, I looked him square in the face.  and he continues.  Get out the d*** highway, it ain't your birthday.

Me still staring at him.

He was so loud people across the street the opposite direction from me at the bank are now staring at us.

Good times.
